The Power of Women’s Stories

“The power of women’s stories is a space to listen to the silent voice of women. Their stories build strong narratives that inspire others to rise from vulnerability into empowerment.”

The goal of the project is to generate insights and opportunities from women’s stories to support future actions for improving the capacity, confidence, knowledge, and empowerment of women, so women are more likely to stand as candidates for leadership roles.

Main Objectives:

Food, Land and People

“The result of this project is not something that can be seen in a short period. But the cookbook, the website, and the support from women in villages—those are just the beginning.”

The goal of the project is to develop and test a recipe collection to assist in making local food a popular option for local food businesses and home-cooks in Kupang City and provide a sustainable market for local food farmers

Tiwi is a Public Interest Lawyer and Director of Bali Legal Aid Institute (YLBHI LBH Bali). She works with community and stakeholders to promote access to justice and human rights of vulnerable people, especially women children and people with disabilities.

Ete is the founder of Bacarita pangan lokal (Bapalok) than concern in local food archive and food innovation. Ete also a photographer and writer. Recently Ete has prepare for her second book title Puan dan Pangan. She do local food campaign and run a small businesses called MyPlant Ideas.

Ete also share about local food in the communities and share the local food recipes thorough Bapalok Website.

Serli is a community organizer of Indonesian Women Coalition Region East Nusa Tenggara which focuses on organizing and educating women and girls in leadership especially how they own their voice and speak up. Serly and her organization built Balai Perempuan in remote villages in Kupang and South Central Timor and initiated critical discussion among young women of university students.

Fauzan is a Program Development Manager at AksesHUB. AksesHUB is social platform aims to promote social inclusion and empowerment of disadvantaged/ marginalized communities to participate in society and be more independent. AksesHUB also promotes collaboration with relevant stakeholders in order to develop its program. Fauzan and his collegues work in several focus areas including economic empowerment, skill development, education, advocacy related to rights of disability, and social inclusion.

The goal of the project is to develop a resource based on traditional wisdom related to people and environment which can inform environmental actions including improving physical environment in Nagekeo regency by reducing litter.

Tirsa Kailola is a passionate educator and educational program developer. Since 2017 she has worked for Heka Leka as an Early Childhood program director who is responsible for designing and managing teachers’ professional program of early childhood education in Maluku.
