As part of his action project under the INSPIRASI 2022 programme, Samuel Leivy, through his organisation Sea Soldier, recently held a meeting in Bahowo, Manado, to finalise the “Mapia Pledge”, a community-driven commitment to sustainable tourism. The Mapia Project, led by Samuel, focuses on preserving coastal ecosystems, promoting eco-friendly tourism practices, and safeguarding local cultural heritage.

In Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, where open discussions on sexual and reproductive health remain rare, Mariana Yunita Hendriyani Opat, or Tata, INSPIRASI alumni 2022, founded Tenggara Youth Community in 2016. Tenggara provides safe spaces for young people to learn and discuss these issues, reaching over 4,000 youth across 30 communities.

In the second phase of the action project, Yusri and his team made adjustments based on the insights gained from discussions with local NGOs and community facilitators in the first phase. Recognizing the established presence of Religious Forums in the village, they integrated their program into these forums.

Budiman, INSPIRASI alum 2022 collaborated with the Youth of Meninting Coastal Area (West Nusa Tenggara to explore alternative livelihoods based on processed fish. Read more about Budiman’s story at the link below.
