Tata’s Mission to Break the Silence on Reproductive Health in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

In Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, where open discussions on sexual and reproductive health remain rare, Mariana Yunita Hendriyani Opat, or Tata, INSPIRASI alumni 2022, founded Tenggara Youth Community in 2016. Tenggara provides safe spaces for young people to learn and discuss these issues, reaching over 4,000 youth across 30 communities. The initiative collaborates with religious leaders and uses community-centric methods to address topics like gender-based violence and reproductive rights, empowering local youth to make informed choices.
