
As part of his action project under the INSPIRASI 2022 programme, Samuel Leivy, through his organisation Sea Soldier, recently held a meeting in Bahowo, Manado, to finalise the “Mapia Pledge”, a community-driven commitment to sustainable tourism. The Mapia Project, led by Samuel, focuses on preserving coastal ecosystems, promoting eco-friendly tourism practices, and safeguarding local cultural heritage. The event also marked the inauguration of “Mapia Soldiers”, local champions selected for their active contributions, who will lead by example in implementing the pledge and ensuring long-term positive impacts on the environment, community, and coastal livelihoods.
