Mariana Yunita (Tata)

Mariana Y.H. Opat actively campaigns on issues concerning comprehensive sexuality education, feminism, gender-based violence and other women's issues. In 2016, Tata formed the Tenggara Youth Community to educate children and adolescents in the PMSEU (poor, marginal, socially excluded & underserved) category related to sexual and reproductive health rights. Tenggara works in the East Nusa Tenggara region.

Through her activities in Sexual and Reproductive Health Issues, she was selected as the Indonesia Country Coordinator for IYAFP (International Youth Alliance for Family Planning) organisation in 2018/2019 and won the 11th SATU Indonesia Award in the health category in 2020. Her action project focuses on the perspective of parents and youth on the importance of access to comprehensive sexuality education through a co-design processe. This work is a result of her learning about climate change and the gendered implications from INSPIRASI program.
